Course Objectives
Database is the most important part of a GIS. This course aims to concentrate specifically on geo-databases as an resource and a knowledge base for decision making, working on geo-information. This provides the basis for a comprehensive and balanced discussion of recent advances in the concepts and technology that underlie the current data-based and user-centric approach to geo-information.
Course Description
Analyzing the current status of Geographic Information Technology database principles, architecture, models, sharing, and application. Geo-database designing, building, and management. Web based geo-databases and future trends, building geodatabase for a thematic application area, future trends of geo-database systems.
