Course Objectives
• Emphasizing the importance of mathematical representation in order to explain space
dimensions and relations of spatial objects.
• Defining mathematical methods for managing spatial objects and basic geometrical
behaviours of entities.
• In this case, main GIS functions on computer environment are provided with
mathematical background
Course Description
Introduction to space geometry. Logic. Vector algebra. Main coordinate systems and transformations. Projection systems. Relations, functions and linear models. Matrix algebra. Venn diagrams. Boolen algebra and operations. Topoloji kavramı. The graphy theory, paths and cycles, connectivity. Topological views. Flows in networks. Map algebra. Raster-based calculations.
