Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce the understanding of basics, principles and new developments of
1) Technoentrepreneurship and applications of smart r&d in technoentrepreneurship
2) Stages of transformation of innovative ideas within the sector into value added outcomes
3) Government and private incentives and support in entrepreneurship
4) Business models and business plans
5) Entrepreneurship in national and international dimensions and its importancentrepreneurship in national and international dimensions and its importance
6) Gaining knowledge about the importance of economic, demographic, technological, political, legislative and socio-cultural environment’s analysis
Course Description
Definition of entrepreneurship and technoentrepreneurship, nature of entrepreneur and entrepreneurship, concepts of R&D and smart R&D, innovative process, transform an innovative idea into value added in food sector, funding that enterpreanurs can utilize: KOSGEB, Teknokent, Ministry of Economy and Development, TUBITAK support and incentives, project writing and submission for R&D and smart R&D ideas, patents and intellectual property rights,
entrepreneurship in national and international dimensions and its importance, the role and contribution of entrepreneurship in economic growth and development, entrepreneurship in developing and developed countries, importance of economic, demographic, technological, political, legislative and socio-cultural environment’s analysis, importance of personal and business networks in entrepreneurship,
preparing a business plan, competition and the importance of a competitive business plan in founding a business, SWOT analysis, resource analysis, angel investors, financial planning, analysis and formation of financial tables, market research, pricing strategies and their importance, market structure and market dynamics, selection company legal types: joint stock company, limited liability companies, e-marketing and sales, export/import and custom regulations
Course Outcomes
PhD students who successfully pass this course gain knowledge, skills and proficiency in the following subjects:
1) Technoentrepreneurship and applications of smart r&d applications in technoentrepreneurship
2) Discrimination of valuable and innovative ideas, commercialization stages of innovative ideas and new technologies and determination of their commercialization potential
3) Market research about business idea in a given sector
4) Identification of necessary strategic properties for a competitive business plan, feasibility analysis and financial planning stages
5) Importance of personal and business networks in entrepreneurship
6) Government and private support and incentives for those whose wish to become entrepreneurs
7) Importance of economic, demographic, technological, political, legislative and socio-cultural environment’s analysis
8) Legal responsibilities
