Course Objectives 1. To teach digital printing technologies and application methods
2. To teach ink types, color systems and management in ink jet printing
3. To teach most encountered faults, possible reasons and solutions in ink jet printing
Course Description History of digital printing and development process, ink jet head technologies in digital printing, working principles of digital printers, printing inks and their properties, recent developments of digital printing, CMYK color space, color management and true color printing, profiling, digital printers in textile industry, fabric preparation prior to printing, fixation methods and post treatment processes, most encountered faults and possible reasons and solutions in digital printing.
Course Outcomes At the end of the course the students will have
I. Information about digital printing technologies,
II. Information about ink types
III. Information about CMYK color space and the relation to the RGB color space
IV. Information about the usage of digital printing technology in textile industry
V. Ability to solve the most encountered problems during digital printing of textiles.
