Course Objectives It is aimed to teach basic properties of engineering materials, structure property relationships, and production methods of nanostructure materials. It is also aimed to teach how these properties are affected by grain size, orientation in nanostructure materials and to gain to the students a systematic ability in discussion the final performance of these materials during service applications.
Course Description Discussion of structure-property relationships in Engineering Materials. Classification of properties. Mechanical properties of bulk Materials. Mechanical tests. Production methods of nanostructured Materials. Discussion of hardness, strength, ductility, fracture and fatigue, wear and creep properties of nanomaterials.
