Course Objectives
1 To present fundamental information on repair and consolidation works of historic masonry structures to architects and engineers who are interested in conservation of cultural heritage,
2 To develop the ability to analysis and interpretation of the structural condition of historic buildings,
3 To develop a multi-disciplinary approach between different fields of practice.
Course Description
Load bearing systems of historic structures including construction techniques and materials International charters and resolutions on conservation and structural restoration of architectural heritage as well as the regulations in Turkey Non destructive and semi destructive test methods, analysis techniques and monitoring systems for additional information on the structural condition of historic buildings Typical damages and damage mechanisms of historic masonry structures along with the intervention proposals for the repair and prevention of further damages
