Course Objectives
To make architects, who intend to build up a career on building conservation, able to understand and investigate technological aspects of architecture. To make research on monumental Ottoman buildings in and around Istanbul, which is the main locus of Ottoman construction tradition
Course Description
A general approach to building construction in the Ottoman world from the decision making, planning and application to the completion of the building. Sources for advanced research on Ottoman building practices. The relationship between the Ottoman technological tradition and parallel developments in the East and the West.
