Course Objectives
Investigation on connection between Architecture and Urban Design with Social Ecology scientific study of the human groups and how their living spaces are affected by interactions between the societies and their environment. Discussion on basic concepts of Social Ecology and Environmental Psychology is concerned with the relationships between indivudual-society and environments related with Arhitecture and Urban Design. Study on researches about Social Ecology and Environmental Psychology which include to knowledge in the social, behavioral, legal, environmental, and health sciences related with Architecture and Cities. Think again about creating healthy design with theoretical approaches and views in man-society-environment relationship.
Course Description
Introduction of contents and reasons of Social Ecology and Environmental Psychology in Architecture and Urban Design. Investigation of characteristics and relation of man–environment. Discussion about need of man, processes of sociality and individuality, culture, social change, transaction of culture-environment and globalization concern with Building and Urban Environment. Study of theories and researches on Social Ecology and Environmental Psychology and related to Architectural and Urban Design. Interdependence of the social and physical environment and their influence on behavior and well-being. Discussion and evaluation of social and environmental problems, environmental stress, changes of society, building and cities in future.
Course Outcomes
1-Research ability: To be able to apply the basic methods of information gathering and analysis in every aspect of programming and design processes.
2-Critical thinking skill: To be able to analyze and evaluate enough for buildings, building complexes and urban spaces,
3-Human behavior: Awareness of the interaction between the physical environment and human
4-Environmental protection: Understanding the basic principles of ecological and architectural responsibilities in connection with the sustainable use of resources in architecture and urban design and environmental issues,
