Course Objectives
To learn international maritime conventions, to interpret their requirements and to develop approaches to monitor/predict their effects.
Course Description
Understanding of international maritime conventions in terms of aim, scope, participating countries, ship/ship management implementation requirements, inspection practices. Analysis of conventions in respect to existing/future technology requirements, implementation costs, feedbacks, practical problems, NGO comments, IGO contributions, future market effects of amendments.
Course Outcomes
I. Learn the concept of international conventions, related organizations and mechanisms.
II. Interpret international maritime conventions in detail.
III. Design and execute the implementations of conventions in ship management.
iv) Monitor the financial, operational and technological effects of maritime conventions.
