Course Objectives To provide the engineering students with:
1. A basic knowledge of intelligent systems.
2. Knowledge on the design and application of neural networks, fuzzy logic and neuro-fuzzy systems.
3. Experience based on examples and computer usage
Course Description Introduction to intelligent systems and soft computing. Review for Optimization, modeling and control. Introduction to neural networks, back propagation learning rule, fuzzy set theory, fuzzy inference methods, fuzzy control, adaptive neuro-fuzzy inferencing system (ANFIS), genetic algorithms
Course Outcomes Having completed this course, the student should be able to:
1- Possess knowledge on intelligent systems.
2- Possess knowledge on design and application of neural networks, fuzzy logic and neuro-fuzzy systems.
3- Understand the industrial applications and academic research in the area of intelligent systems.
4- Design and fine tune intelligent systems using computer simulations.
Pre-requisite(s) MAK331E or equivalent Automatic Control Course is recommended
