Introduction, definitions, historical development; general synthetic procedures; cycization reactions; High dilution tehnique and template effect; Host-guest interactions in macrocyclic compounds; Crown ethers and their interactions with alkli metals; Cryptands and their interactions with alkli metals; Phthalocyanines; Porphyrins and their natural analogs; Calixarenes, cavitands, heterocalixarenes; catenanes; rotexans; Thia-crown ethers; Applications
