UMT 507 - Measurement, Analysis and Regulation Techniques in Metallurgical Processes

Course Objectives

1. To teach principles of measurement, analysis and regulation techniques in engineering applications
2. To adapt techniques into the metallurgical processes
3. To examine and develop problem solving approaches experienced during the applications
4. To develop regulation techniques about the automation in processes

Course Description

Basic magnitudes measured in metallurgical processes, measuring units and orders of magnitude, fundamental principles of measuring systems, systems used in measurement of the physical magnitudes, systems used in measurement of the chemical magnitudes, investigation of measurement and analysis used in several metallurgical processes by flow charts, mechanisms of data acquisition and evaluation, technics for converting analogue measurements to digital data, regulation techniques and process automation
