Course Objectives To present new concepts and discussions developed in the world for the preservation and appraisal of cultural properties; to discuss, by giving examples, the expanding content of the concept of cultural property; to present and discuss the theoretical and legal aspects of new preservation concepts in Turkey; to encourage the students to read the selected texts related to the topics presented.
Course Description New concepts and discussions in the field of cultural heritage preservation; new texts and concepts that nourished and improved the Venice Charter, that defines the basic principles of architectural preservation since 1964; the increase in the variety of cultural properties and new approaches in the preservation of this heritage in its integrity; texts reflecting this approach.
Course Outcomes Students who successfully pass this course gain knowledge, skill and competency in the following subjects;

3. Evaluating and using new information with a systematic approach.
