Course Objectives
1. To equip the graduate students who had been given Mechanical Engineering education with necessary knowledge for those who are interested in experimental research on engines
2. To give information about measuring systems and experimental setups which can be used in engine testing
3. To encourage the students for experimental research and to make them contribute more to experimental R&D activities
Course Description
Experimental investigation and analysis of engines, principles of research, classification of engine experiments, engine performance characteristics and measurements, engine dynamometers and test stands, engine cycle analysis, pressure transducers, amplifiers and recorders, temperature measurements in engines, research on the design of combustion.
Course Outcomes
1. The ability to apply mathematics, physical sciences and engineering knowledge in experimental R&D activities
2. The ability to analyze and comment on experimental results
3. The ability to use advanced tools, instruments and equipments in experimental R&D activities
