Course Objectives
Optimisation theory and classification of mathematical programming methods. Solution methods of linear programming. Economic dispatch of thermal units and solution methods. Transmission losses.
Unit commitment problem and an introduction to dynamic programming. Energy production cost models for fuel budgeting and planning. Hydrolic coordination. Hydroelectric plant models. Methods of load forecasting. Optimal power flow. Power system security. State estimation from on-line measurements.
