Course Objectives 1. Presenting the approaches for the evaluation of experimental data and interpretation of the results
2. Supporting experimental design by using statistical methods
3. Evaluation of experimental results with the aid of advanced statistical methods
Course Description Introduction, Basic Concepts of Statistics, Probability Theory, Probability Distributions, Sampling Distributions, Statistical Hypothesis Testing, Regression Analysis, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Tolerance intervals and prediction intervals, Experimental design methods, sizing the experiment, Parameter estimation for amprical models
Course Outcomes I. Analysis of statistical concepts in the field of Environmental Engineering
II. Implementation of statistical methods in Environmental Engineering applications
III. Evaluation and analysis of experimental data and results
IV. Computer aided statistical calculations and visualization of results
