Course Objectives
1. To teach the basic topics of Real Analysis,
2. To teach the basic methods of proof and to develope the ability to solve theoretical problems.
Course Description
Theory of Functions of a Real Variable: The Extended Real Numbers, Continuous Functions, Borel Sets
Lebesgue Measure and The Lebesgue Integral: Littlewood’s Three Principles, The General Lebesgue Integral, Convergence in Measure
Differentiation and Integration: Functions of Bounded Variation, Differentiation of an Integral,
The Classical Banach Spaces: The Lp Spaces.
Course Outcomes
A student completing this course succesfully is expected to have learned the topics:
