Course Objectives 1. Information on the Early and Classical Ottoman Architecture
2. To be aware of the original designs of the Ottoman buildings which are restored and designed for new functions nowadays
Course Description A detailed survey on the architectural program and the space, mass, façade and structural design of the Early Ottoman and Classical Ottoman buildings, for the understanding of the development of the Ottoman Architecture in these periods. The social, cultural and economic conditions of the period that led to this development are studied and discussed.
Course Outcomes 1. To analyze and evaluate the scientifically gathered data on the Early and Classical Ottoman Architecture
2. To understand the local traditions and impact of the historical heritage in architectural, urban and landscape designs
3. To understand the design properties of the Ottoman building types
4. To know the construction techniques of the Ottoman Architecture
