MIA 517 - Advanced Thermodynamics

Course Objectives

To understand the laws of thermodynamics and to consider them within the framework of the concept of sustainability in addition to engineering analysis; To provide graduate students with experience in analyzing thermal systems on the basis of thermodynamic laws and applying optimization methods. Understanding the exergy analysis method on the basis of second law analysis and calculation and optimization of exergy-related cost flows of thermal systems with the second law costing method. Investigation of thermodynamic analysis and optimization of power generation systems with finite time thermodynamics and comparison with thermoeconomic analysis and optimization. First and second law analysis of chemical reactions.

Course Description

Termodinamiğin temel yasaları ve bunların termal sistemlere uygulanması; ikinci yasa analizi ve ekserji kavramı ve termal sistemlerin optimize edilmesindeki faydası; kimyasal termodinamiğe giriş, yanma sistemlerinin termodinamiği, yanma reaksiyonları ile ilişkili ısı transferi ve yanma ürünlerinin denge bileşimi.
