Course Objectives 1. Introduce the details of measurement chain for vibration measurement
2. Provide a fundamental knowledge on the assessment of vibration signals
3. Teach the details of frequency response function measurement
4. Teach modal parameter extraction methods through measured frequency response functions
5. Provide an information on the practical applications of modal testing
Course Description Introduction to vibration analysis and modal testing. Sensors, measurement chain and data collection. Experimental determination of frequency response functions. Determination of modal parameters through frequency response functions. Applications on experimental modal analysis.
Course Outcomes At the end of the course, the students who passed will have:
1.Fundamental knowledge on related sensors, measurement chain, dataacquisition and signal processing.
2.Practical knowledge on the use of frequency response functions.
3.Ability to understand and assess the frequency response functions.
4.Ability to extract modal parameters, such as natural frequencies, damping ratios and mode shapes, through measured frequency response functions.
5.Fundamental knowledge on practical applications of modal testing.
