Course Objectives
1. To develop an understanding of aesthetic elements and principles of apparel design,
including color, line, shape, texture, space, proportion, balance, unity, rhythm, and the
Gestalt theory.
2. Based on socio-cultural and psychological factors, to provide an understanding of aesthetic
preferences of consumers.
Course Description
This course will explore principles and elements of aesthetics influencing apparel design and
merhandising. In addition to that, aesthetic response of apparel consumers will be analyzed
based on socio-cultural and psychonological factors.
