Course Objectives In this course, we explore Architectural Essay Film as a design research form first by understanding and discussing what is an Essay Film and how it is spatially delivered. Later on, we focus on the probabilities of architectural representation, architectural model and the subjectivity of the researcher in Architectural Essay films by theoretical discussions and film examples.
Course Description - Creating a discussion platform on architectural research and essay filmmaking.
- Enhancing filmmaking abilities by introducing a variety of recording, representation techniques in line with film screenings and workshops.
Course Outcomes - Learning the concept of architectural essay film
- Learning to use architectural essay film as a way of investigating spatial
research.
- Gaining experience on the methodological challenges and opportunities of
architectural essay film in the context of architectural design research
- Gaining experience and critical approach on the modes of visualising and
imagining in the form of an architectural essay film
- Comprehending the interaction of the field of architecture with other
disciplines.
