Course Objectives
.1. Character Design & Development: Exaggeration, Stereotyping and Breaking Stereotypes.
2. Scene Design: Placing Cameras, Characters, and Props.
3. Principles of Animation: Staging, Anticipation and Follow Through, Line of Action and Motion.
4. Master Plots: Adventure, Revenge, Rivalry, Underdog, Transformation etc.
5. Visual Story Design: Storyboards and Animatics.
Course Description
.This course covers principles of visual and interactive storytelling for game design an development. We will cover subjects such as master plots, genres, shots, storyboards, animatics, character design and development. During the class, students will design interactive stories for games as groups. These interactive stories will be developed into games later.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to:
1. design and develop characters,
2. design shots and scenes,
3. design and develop visual stories,
4. by applying principles of animation, and
5. by employing master plots.
