DTM 533 - Scientific Diving Techniques in Underwater Researches
Course Objectives
1. To develop an understanding of dive physics, physiology, decompression theory and dive planning.
2. Theoretical Calculation and Numerical Simulatıon For Diving Apparatus
3. To ensure safe and effective diving practices in order to provide support for the scientific research and educational programs.
4. To lay the fundamental groundwork necessary for developing dive plans according to water movement, visibility, temperature, aquatic bottom compositions, and aquatic life.
5. To acquire an understanding of commonly applied underwater research methodologies.
6. To gain knowledge about the design and usage of underwater vehicles utilized for underwater data collection.
7. To gain knowledge about the design and usage of the equipments that work under high pressure.
8. To gain knowledge about underwater inspection and inspection equipments
Course Description
Dive safety, diving physics and physiology, equipment care and maintenance, dive planning, First Aid, Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA) diving techniques used in the scientific dives, developing a proposal, dive plan, and materials list preparation intended for scientific researches, familiarization to the underwater environment, local flora and fauna. Using dive Program software. Underwater communication systems. Technological equipments that could be used under high pressure. Design of equipments used in underwater researches. Collection and evaluation of underwater data.
