MTA 556E - Modal Testing
Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to:
- introduce methods of vibration measurement,
- explain the fundamentals of signal processing and vibration analysis,
- teach the theory behind “measuring” Frequency Response Functions (FRFs),
- introduce various methods of estimating modal parameters from measured FRFs.
- provide practical skills to use related hardware and software.
Course Description
Introduction to the fundamentals of vibration analysis and modal testing. Transducers and
measurement chain, acquisition of vibration signals. Estimation of Frequency Response
Functions (FRF). Extraction of modal parameters from FRFs. Applications of modal testing.
