Course Objectives
1. The design, construction, analysis, and control of the state-of-the-art micro/nano-robotic systems
2. The micro/nanoscale sensors, actuators, manipulators, power sources, interfacing
3. Physics behind micro/nanoscale robotic systems and modeling
4. Use of micro/nano scale systems in robotics field and active student participation and interaction are the main objectives.
Course Description
This course focuses on the fundamental concept of design, construction, analysis, and control of the state-of-the-art micro/nano-robotic systems. The topics covered include the physics in the micro/nano world, microsensors, microactuators, micro/nano imaging, mobile microrobotics, power sources, dynamic modeling and control, and system integration.
Course Outcomes
1. Basic principles of micro/nano scale systems, scale factor ve biomimetics
2. Designing and modeling micro/nano actuator and sensor
3. Micro/nano imaging techniques and tribology
4. Familiar with the possibilities of micro/nano robotics to utilize it in future applications and product designs.

Required Facilities
Will be encouraged for the homework and project especially on the use of FEM and differential solver related topics.
Other
Laboratory applications will take place at Micro/Nano Robotics Lab. at ITU-MEAM.
