Course Objectives .
Course Description Introduction. Bearing systems. Single-mass and multi-mass rotor models. Rotor mode shapes.Torsional vibrations. Instability in rotating machines. Applied condition monitoring. On-line and off-line systems. Common malfunctions. Rotor balancing. Machinery alignment. Machinery diagnostic methodology. Measuring bearing impedances
Course Outcomes 1- Dynamic modeling of high speed rotor-bearing sytems.
2- Computer simulation of rotating machinery behaviour.
3- Understanding the sources of vibration problems in rotating machinery.
4- In-situ balancing of rotors on the field.
