Course Objectives
1-Provide fundamental knowledge about optimization processes to students
2-Provide knowledge and skills about parameter optimization problems and solution methods to students
3-Provide knowledge and skills about function optimization problems and solution methods to students
Course Description
Fundamentals. Single and multidimensional, constrained and unconstrained optimization problems. Parameter optimization and Mini-Max theory. Nonlinear programming and search techniques. Linear programming and Simplex method. Function optimization and Variations calculation.
Course Outcomes
1-Knowledge about the theory of maximums and minimums
2-Ability to formulate nonlinear programming problems and solve them by hand and on a computer
3-Ability to formulate linear programming problems and solve them by hand and on a computer
4-Ability to formulate and solve calculus of variations problems
5-Knowledge and application skills about direct solution methods of calculation of variations problems
