Course Objectives:
1. Understand the basics of plate tectonics and associated geological processes.
2. Identify different types of ore deposits and their geological settings.
3. Analyze the relationship between tectonic activity and the formation of ore deposits.
4. Explore the methods and challenges in mining and mineral exploration.
5. Discuss the environmental and economic aspects of ore extraction.
Course Description
This course explores the fascinating link between plate tectonics and the formation of ore deposits. Students will gain an understanding of how the movement and interaction of Earth's tectonic plates contribute to the creation and distribution of mineral resources. The course will cover fundamental geological processes, types of ore deposits, and methods used in their exploration and exploitation.
