Course Objectives
Graduates that will work at maritime companies;
1. Will gain information about maritime commercial management
2. Will gain information of ship management and charter parties
3. Will be learn about chartering and brokering in details
Course Description
Introduction chartering, Market Context and broking, The role of broker, Broker’s authority, Vessel description, Geograpy of sea transport, Chartering terminology, Chartering contracts, Charter party clauses, Obligationg of parties, Chartering modules, Port and performance, laytime and demurrage calculation, Disputes and arbitrations.
Course Outcomes
M.Sc. students who successfully pass this course gain knowledge, skill and competency in the following subjects;
I. Basic knowledge and skill of maritime commercial management
II. Knowledge of charter parties.
III. Skill of making profit and loss accounts
IV. Knowledge of insurance, agency, brokering
