PEM 529 - Production of Public Space in Istanbul

Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to discuss the concepts pf "public/ publicness/public space" within their historical, political, sociological contexts and to develop a critical reading towards their spatiality. ın addition to case studies from Istanbul, readings on global and national level will be included in the discussions.

Course Description

the course is designed for graduate students. Within the scope of the course, readings, discussions, site visits will be organized and guest lecturers will be invited to enhance the discussions.
