MBL 513E - Digital Arch.Design&Modelling
Course Objectives
The Digital Architectural Design & Modelling (DADM) Course aims to provide a sufficient base for architectural design modelling processes, including various modelling techniques by use of digital media, such as geometric, solid, algorithmic, parametric, data-based, performance simulation and building information modelling (BIM). A series of tutorials and seminars will be provided and necessary assignments/case studies on architectural design problems will be undertaken by the students within the framework of digital architectural design modelling.
Course Description
Physical + Digital Workflows
Physical and digital workflows including translation of geometry and behavior from physical to digital environment will be explored, including form generation and performance simulation methods. Therefore, each student group is expected to work with physical modeling (preferably with clay-based), to identify their workflow, and translate the geometrical and behavioral processes of their physical models into the digital environment. Thus, students will explore various modes of modelling.
