Course Objectives
To give students knowledge about structures of practical industrial automation systems
To provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to evaluate, design and implement industrial automation systems.
To learn design and implementation of industrial automated systems using formal methods
To study safety issues of automation
Course Description
Architecture of Industrial Automation: Systems. Design and implementation approaches and formal methods. Logic circuit design methods: The design and implementation of asynchronous sequential circuits based on fundamental mode operation and synchronous sequential circuits for programmable controller (PLC). Design methods based on discrete event systems model: Automata based design and implementation, Petri nets based design and implementation. Safety issues of industrial automation.
