Course Objectives

Course Description
This course delves into the 'digital turn' in architecture from the late 20th century onwards, exploring the evolution of computational design as a critical interdisciplinary paradigm. It introduces students to the historical and theoretical dimensions of computational design, emphasizing its role in reshaping architectural practice and research. Students will engage with the key concepts and techniques of computational design, which integrates methods from computer science, computational geometry, and other related fields to address contemporary design challenges. The course also highlights the growing reliance on digital tools in various design-related fields, fostering cross-disciplinary integration of techniques and data.
