DEP 520 - Seismic Design of Precast Concrete Structures

Course Objectives

1. To provide up-to-date information for the analysis and design of precast concrete building type structures to be constructed in areas with earthquake risk.
2. Understanding the behavior of precast reinforced concrete structural members under the influence of earthquakes based on experimental study results.
3. Understanding of traditional and innovative methods and technologies used for different joints and connections of precast concrete structural systems based on experimental study results.
4. Ensuring the effective use of Turkish Building Earthquake Code (2018) in the analysis and design of precast concrete structural systems.

Course Description

Investigation of the general structural behavior of precast reinforced concrete structural systems under earthquake effect, Evaluation of experimental studies examining the behavior of structural members and different joint and connection types under the influence of earthquakes in precast concrete structures and their effective use in design, Effective use of Turkish Building Earthquake Code (2018) in the analysis and design of precast reinforced concrete systems.
