Course Objectives
1.To teach the basic logistics problems through a model-based approach
2. To show how to solve real life logistics problems through case studies
3. To provide a systems approach to supply chain management
Course Description
This course provides a model-based approach to the basic logistics management problems. Inventory, transportation, forecasting logistics requirements, purchasing, and facility location models are especially analyzed in detail and case studies are used to provide real life examples to students. After the theoretical content of each topic is introduced, the details are provided through comprehensive assignments.
