Course Objectives
Introduction to shipyard production planning and production management concepts. Introduction to computer aided production management and decision support systems. Case studies related to production planning and control techniques in ship production
Course Description
1) Introduction, Outline of : Production Planning, Shipyard Organization, and Information Systems. 2) Systems and Modeling concepts, 3) Production planning and control techniques in Ship Production, Ship Production Process, 4) Computer Aided management, Management Information Systems, 5) Selection of Management Information Systems for Shipyards, 6) Examples about systems implementation in shipyards, 7) Case Study 1 & 2, 8) Student Presentations
Course Outcomes
M.Sc./Ph.D. students who successfully pass this course gain knowledge, skill and competency in the following subjects;
1.Understands shipyard production planning and production management concepts
2.Identify with the Computer Aided management, Management Information Systems
3.Select the appropriate Management Information Systems for a shipyard
4.Apply his/her knowledge to production planning, control and problem solving issues in shipyards
