Course Objectives
Mühendislik problemlerinin çözümünde kullanılan sayısal çözümleme yöntemlerinden göreli olarak daha eski olan Sonlu Farklar Yöntemi ve Sonlu Elemanlar Yöntemi yanında son 40 yılda hızla gelişen Sınır Eleman Yöntemi tanıtılmaktadır. Sınır Eleman Yöntemi birçok mühendislik probleminde kesin çözümlere diğer sayısal yöntemler ile elde edilen çözümlerden çok daha iyi yakınsayan çözüm üreebilmektedir. Ayrıca Sınır Eleman Yöntemi uygulanırken sadece çözüm bölgesinin diğer sayısal çözümleme yöntemlerinde olduğu gibi kendisi değil de sınırının ayrıklaştırılması gerektiğinden çok daha az sayıda bilinmeyen söz konusu olmaktadır. Öğrencilerin uygulamada karşılaşılan mühendislik problemlerini Sınır Elaman Yöntemini kullanarak çözümleyebilecek duruma getirilmeleri amaçlanmaktadır.

Approximate Methods for Solution to Engineering Problems, The Method of Weighted Residuals, Collocation Methods, Method of Least Squares, Closed Form Approximate Solution Methods, Ritz and Galerkin Methods, Finite Differences Method, Boundary and Domain Methods, Advantageous and Disadvantageous of the Methods, Weak Formulations, Finite Element Method, Fundamentals of Boundary Element Method, Boundary Integral Formulations, Fundamental Solutions, Boundary Elements, Application to Potential Problems, Application to Elasticity Problems, Application to Dynamic Elasticity (Elastodynamic) Problems, Application to Plate Problems.
