MIT 509 - Contemporary Architecture after 1950
Course Objectives
1. Introduction of the new movements emerged after 1950 in architecture; and
2. Discussions on the reasons prompted the emergence of those styles and the relations between them.
Course Description
In this course post-Second World War International Style, Architecture in Eastern Block in the Cold War Era, Regionalism, Modern and Late Modern Architecture, Post Modernism, High-Tech Architecture/Virtual Worlds and present times architecture are discussed both theoretically and upon case studies.
