Course Objectives . Developing the ability of analysis and evaluation on historical buildings through selected examples
. Perceiving the significance of building description and architectural documentation as basic methods
. Supporting the field research, with library and archival studies; Developing the skill of observation on buildings or building complex
. Reaching a total approach by emphasizing also the relation between the topics of architectural history and social-cultural data.
Course Description Examples of field studies; Information on the history of the buildings; In situ study of the selected site and buildings; Systematic building description; Essentials of architectural documentation, presentation through drawings and photographs; Bibliographical research; Evaluations of style and construction techniques; Relations with social structure.
