Course Objectives The Naval Architecture and Marine Engineers work in a heavy industry environment. In this lecture, it is aimed to teach students about possible industrial hazards and risks in the working environment and related preventive actions.
Course Description 1. To give the knowledge about fire fighting, risks in shipyards, lifting equipment, etc.,
2. Students will have the knowledge about managing risks,
3. To apply expert system methods to make the shipyards risk minimum environment,
4. To make students conscious about some serious industrial accidents.
Course Outcomes 1. Equipped with high level information about the knowledge of the risks at shipyards,
2. Gaining the necessary scientific infrastructure to minimize the risks to workers' health in shipyards,
3. Able to apply expert system methods to solve problems encountered in the shipyards correctly and properly,
4. Able to prepare accident analysis reports,
5. Know about fire fighting, electrical works and lifting equipment and their risks as well as the preventive actions,
6. Have information about working at high and precautions,
7. Know about how to work in confined spaces,
8. Have enough awareness about national and international safety regulations.
