Course Objectives

• Identify a list of issues encountered during software development
• Define what a recommendation system is, how it works, and what they can do.
• Learn the steps of building RSSEs
o Identify data sources for inputs/outputs of RSSE
o Data mining approaches for data collection
o Building the recommendation engine
o Deploying the RSSE to available systems in a software organization
• Building and presenting a RSSE for a particular software engineering problem

Course Description

Understanding and building recommendation systems in software engineering (RSSEs), which are software applications that provide information items estimated to be valuable for a software engineering task in a given context.
