Course Objectives
Provide knowledge on diesel and spark ignition engine fuel systems, combustion chamber design and air motion effects on mixture formation, parameters effecting engine performance and exhaust emissions, recent advances in engine technology
Course Description
SI engine fuel sytems, manifold injection and direct injection in SI engines, parameters effecting spray behaviour, combustion chamber effects on mixture formation, ignition and combustion, engine performance and emissions related to injection parameters
Diesel engine fuel systems, atomization of diesel fuel, spray break-up mechanisms, droplet size distrubution, evaporation of droplets, ignition and combustion, combustion chamber effects on mixture formation
