Course Objectives
1. Günümüzde uzay araçları ve ileri teknolojiye sahip savunma alanında kullanılan bazı hava araçları hipersonik hızlarda hareket etmektedir. Yüksek hız aerodinamiğinin günümüzde önemli bir kısmını oluşturan hipersonik akışlar bu ders kapsamında öğrenciye tanıtılacak ve ayrıntılı olarak anlatılacaktır.
Course Description
Introduction to hypersonic flow. Inviscid hypersonic flow: hypersonic shock and expansion-wave relations, local surface inclination methods, approximate and exact methods. Viscous hypersonic flow: basic aspects, boundary layer results, and aerodynamic heating. High temperature gas dynamics: physical chemistry, statistical thermodynamics, kinetic theory.

1 Hipersonik ve gezegenler arası uçuşta atmosfere giriş akışlarındaki kritik fiziksel olayları tanıma
2 Newtonsal ve şok-genişleme teorilerini kullanarak basit şekiller üzerindeki basınç dağılımlarını, kuvvetleri ve momentleri hesaplama
3 Viskoz hipersonik akış olaylarını ve mevcut analiz yöntemlerini anlama
4 Hiperhız akışlarındaki kritik kimyasal etkileri dikkate alma ve temel fiziksel olayları anlama
5 Hipersonik akışlar konsunda literatüri tarama ve gerektiğinde daha ayrıntılı çalışmalar sürdürme
Pre-requisite(s)
There are no prerequisites per se. The class is not recommended if you have not already taken a “basics of compressible flow” or a “boundary layer” class.
