Course Objectives
1- Airfoil interaction problems and solution techniques
2- Three-dimensional wing interaction problems and solution techniques
3- Propeller-wing interaction problems and solution techniques
4- Wing-body interaction problems and solution techniques
5- Solution techniques for a complete aircraft
Course Description
Interaction problems between airfoils, bi-foil, ground effect, tandem airfoils. Interaction problems between wings, biplane, ground effect, wing-tail interaction. Interaction problems between aircraft elements, twin-body, body-nacel interaction, body-store interaction. Propeller-wing interaction. Wing-body interaction. Complete aircraft problem
Course Outcomes
M.Sc./Ph.D. students who successfully pass this course gain knowledge, skill and competency in the following subjects;
1- Solution techniques for the 2D interaction problems between two or more airfoils
2- Solution techniques for the interaction problems between two or more lifting wing surfaces
3- Solution techniques for the interaction problem between wing and body
4- Solution techniques for the interaction problem between propeller and wing
5- Solution techniques for a complete aircraft’s aerodynamic coefficients
