Course Objectives
1. To introduce main problems in 3D Computer Vision
2. To learn main techniques in analysis and modeling of 3D vision problems
3. To cover the 3D vision techniques in terms of both mathematical principles and computer realizations as well as applications
Course Description
To introduce main problems in 3D Computer Vision
2. To learn main techniques in analysis and modeling of 3D vision problems. Those will aid in extracting and understanding the 3D structure in the scenes using the observations in the form of multiple 2D or 3D images.
3. To cover the 3D vision techniques in terms of both mathematical principles and computer realizations as well as applications
Course Outcomes
1. Know and discuss the main problems, application areas and the techniques of 3D computer vision
2. Describe basic mathematical techniques in 3D vision (projective geometry, differential geometry etc), define 3D image formation process and camera parameters, express rigid-body and homography transformations using 3D transformations
3. Estimate motion vectors from 3D image sequences, and apply to object tracking
4. Construct solutions to various 3D vision problems such as triangulation, epipolar geometry, shape from shading, and structured lighting.
5. Implement computer realizations of 3D vision applications
