Course Objectives 1 analysing the socio-economic and political conditions that enabled the development of various planning approaches

Course Description The historical development of urban planning since the end of the nineteenth century, land use planning theories, theories related to the planning process. The concept of public interest and sustainability.
Course Outcomes 1 Evaluating the different roles planners play within society from different points of view
2 To discuss the various alternatives for solving planning issues
3 To be able to effectively use theories in determining solutions for planning problems
4 Understand the role of negotiation in planning and evaluate the role of planners
5 Learn the theoretical background of the planning field
