Course Objectives The aim of this course is to provide students to
- Understand GNSS general units(GPS, Galileo, Glonass, Beidou, Space-ControlUser
segments, Receiver and antenna types)
- GNSS basic components (Coordinate systems, datum, orbits, signal, time,
atmosphere, etc.)
- GNSS basic theory (integer ambiguity, double and triple differences, cycle slip
detection, etc.) and positioning (absolute PDOP and GDOP, GPS surveying
techniques, etc.)
- GNSS error sources and the elimination methods of the errors
- GNSS surveying (coordinate, elevation, C1, C2, C3, etc.)
- Evaluation and adjustment of GNSS data
- Satellite or Space based surveying techniques other then GNSS like VLBI, SLR,
LLR, DORIS
Course Description A course that describe the production of point positions and related surveying and
calculations using GNSS, based on national (BÖHHBÜY, TSE and Standards) regulations
and international (ISO, EU Norms and Directives) standards
Course Outcomes Students who completes this course successfully
1 Defines the space based surveying techniques and uses them for position and height
determination
2 Interpret the GNSS positioning techniques calculates the basic components of it and
produce with the quality information
3 Ranks the GNSS positioning techniques with respect to quality (accuracy, precision)
and cost (by optimizing)
4 Produce the raw height data digitally with respect to regulations
5 Indicate the GNSS height determination techniques and produce with the quality
information
6 Ranks the GNSS height determination techniques with respect to quality (accuracy,
precision) and cost (by optimizing)
7 Organize the field production processes (Instrument selection, Surveying Technique
selection, Evaluation method selection, reporting and presentation of the results)
8 Selects the suitable data platform for the productions that are suitable for national
and international standards.
