KIM 101E - General Chemistry I

Course Objectives

1. To teach the fundamental concepts and principles of chemistry.
2. To provide theoretical and practical knowledge as a whole.
3. To develop students’ problem-solving skills.
4. To explain the importance of chemistry in our daily lives.
5. To guide students toward logical and positive thinking and help them understand the laws of nature within this framework.

Course Description

Chemistry and stoichiometry, atoms and atomic theories, the periodic table and atomic properties, chemical bonds, molecular geometry, gases and gas laws, liquids, solids, solutions and their physical properties, thermochemistry, chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, thermodynamics.
