ENR 311 - Makine Elemanları

Course Objectives

Introduction of machine elements and the analysis phase in machine design.

Establishing mathematical models for functional and strength calculations by using fundamental engineering sciences, determining input–output values with the aid of existing experimental models, and applying standards and design criteria.

Developing imagination, creativity, and intuition, as well as providing practical experience.

Providing the necessary knowledge and competence for the design and synthesis phases, and preparing for the subsequent stages of prototype manufacturing, testing, and commercialization.

Course Description

Construction of machinery elements. Continues strength methodology and fatigue strength of mechanical elements. Safety concepts. Methods and elements of fastening and joining. Welded, soldered, adhesive bonded and riveted joints. Shaft-hub connections. Bolted joints and power screws. Mechanical springs. Gears. Shafts, axles, coupling and clutches.
